I made home made fish and chips today. For my fish I used cream dory dipped in egg and bread crumbs. Deep fry until golden brown. for my chips I peeled fresh potatoes cut in strips and chips and deep fried. It’s good just like what you buy from those fancy restaurants only its less expensive and I’m assured my chips are 100% real potatoes and all my ingredients are healthy. With all the money I save I can buy all the Monster-Cable I need for my guitar :p

KKK Pinoy Food Revolution

The Family went to dine out last labor day and we went to SM Fairview and tried out the KKK Pinoy Food Revolution restaurant. I’ve been glancing at the place as I love how the interiors are filled with native Filipino art and furnishings. I also glanced at their menus and they look promising. I am glad the family was game to try something different other than the usual restaurant we go to that offers Filipino dishes on their menu.

My mom is a die-hard Krispy Pata addict. She always ask us to buy her each payday! Haha! KKK Pinoy Food Revolution gave the Krispy Pata a different twist, its Hamonado Krispy Pata and price is Php550.00. Serving is big and taste is good! I particularly love the crunchiness as how a Krispy Pata should be, crispy, very crispy! The sauce is also good.

We also tried out their Enseladang Inihaw na Talong with Nilagang Itlog. I super love the mixture of the calamansi and whatever it was they used. It was not too sour that will make you cringe, it was just right and a perfect combination for the Crispy Pata.

And as much as I am allergic to shellfish and sea foods, I still love eating it, I just make sure that I have allergy meds on hand and not eat too much of it. We had this delicious and glorious tasting Suwami Halaan. It’s clams and some kinda seaweed. Oh gosh you should try it out!

Then of course dessert. The family is such an ice cream addict. They have Pinoy Ice Cream there too and I heard its from Arce Dairy.
The chocolate ice cream is just right not too sweet and not to chocolately

This is the chocolate and nut ice cream, if you are familiar with Chocnut then that is how it taste!

We had Dalandan Juice and Watermelon Shakes for drinks. Very refreshing!

Selecta Ice Cream Addiction

My family loves Icecream and we don’t wait for any special occasions just to enjoy a tub or more. In fact we have ice cream almost everyday especially this summer there’s not a day without an icecream at home. Our favorite brand is Selecta. I think we have tried almost all the new flavors.

Selecta Super Thick Super Chocolate and Ube Royal. I love how thick and rich this ice cream is, unlike regular ice cream it doesn’t melt as fast as the others!

Selecta Overload/ Double Overload in Double Dutch and Cookies and Cream. I love how we can have two flavors in one tub. The daughter love the double dutch super loaded with chocolate chips and marshmallow. The Cookies and cream is super loaded with oreo cookies and very creamy and crunchy!

Selecta Blast Kisses. If you love Hersheys chocolate kisses and you love ice cream then this one is definitely the perfect flavor for you. What a super treat of chocolate and icecream! Yummy!

We also tried Selecta Gold Label Caramel Cheesecake. OMG! It’s so good and well kinda expensive. No wonder the cheesecake they used there are the cheesecake you see at Bizu! Deliciously sinful treats I tell yeah but well worth it! Haha!

Yes, I am that matakaw! I eat what I want and I don’t get fat! Bwahahahahaha! I believe because my metabolism is fast and I love playing with playsets with my daughter as much as we love eating ice cream! Haha!

Corneto

Corneto is my daughter’s favorite ice cream on cone . She can eat as much as 6 cones in less than an hour! I know I should not tolerate such eating habits but she’s just so persistent and yeah have her ways to manipulate me and the members of the household to have her eat all six in one sitting. We love the new flavor White Ice Cream its not so sweet and no it doesn’t taste like vanilla! Honestly, its better tasting than that Mangum mumbo jumbo royalty icecream eklavu!

My daughter has developed a different way of eating the Corneto icecream. She learned this through a game she plays on her ipod touch where she eats the bottom of the ice cream cone first before eating the rest. Its a very messy way of eating and I don’t enjoy it! I think I should delete the app! Its disgusting! But I do love the end of the cone because there’s yummy chocolate at the end.

The Magnum Craze In Manila

In the Philippines, the endorsers count the most. If you have hot, popular, controversial celebrity endorsers for your product, it will become the talk of the town. Imagine having the Royal Family of Philippine showbiz introduce Magnum in Manila with all the controversial talents of Ms. Anabelle Rama, it will create not just a craze but a chaos.

Magnum became talk of the the town, everyone wanted to try it out, see what the fuzz is all about. They talk about the over-price, they talk about the taste, they talk about the endorsers, it was hyped to the next level.

Then comes judgment day, the taste test. Magnum is not so extra-ordinary. Magmum almonds chocolate taste like Sneakers chocolate, while the vanilla ice cream inside reminds me of Tivoli. Sorry to disappoint but I love Cornetto better. I will agree that its a robbery, its like hanging on a reel hose and looking down to see a pool full of white chocolate and dark chocolate syrup. Halo-Halo

Filipino’s love to eat, we have different treats to cool down especially during summer! One of our favorite cool treats is Halo-Halo. If you are not a Filipino you don’t know what Halo-Halo is. It is one of the best snack ever!

Halo-Halo is made of a mix of ingredients mostly sweetened fruits and nuts and veggies like Banana, Langka, Sweet Potato, Black Beans, Coconut, Macapuno, Pinipig, Leche Flan, Langka, Ube, topped with shaved ice and milk. Sometimes to add more flavor we top it with Ice Cream!

This snack is very refreshing and filling at the same time. Can you imagine all those ingredients in one tall glass and you drink up all the way down. Too bad my bf didn’t get to try one because he is being picky. He missed a lot during his visit here. I wonder if carl martin will try this one? I hope so.

Boneless Crispy Pata @ Serye

My mom is such a Crispy Pata addict, every pay day she would request to have her Crispy Pata. My mom is such a stubborn old woman. She has high blood pressure but she still loves to eat high cholesterol food like this one and lechon.

We went out today to have lunch at Serye Quezon Memorial Circle branch and have this delightfully crunchy and tasty Boneless Crispy Pata! I love this more than the boned one as there’s more to chew, more crunch and more to eat than eat like cannibals munching on bones like dogs digging at a backyard bridge! Haha!

I also love the sauce/dip. Kinda garlicky spicy , probably with onions too .

Boracay Fresh Buko Vendor

Filipino’s are the one of the most resourceful people in the world. Imagine having to manage to sell items in a tiny boat , more like a Kayak to tourist in Boracay?

I spotted this man (almost) paddling his way around the tourists in a boat for some snorkeling selling Fresh Buko!

We were so amazed at this mans perseverance so we called him out and bought all the Buko in his Kayak! Only Php20.00 a piece! The Buko Vendor looks like a teenager trying to make a decent living. Hats off to you!

Look at that his Buko (Coconut) is very fresh look how yummy soft and still a bit transparent the coconut meat is in the buko he sells? Yummeh!

He also cuts the buko shell in a form of a spoon so you can scoop your way through it. YUmz!

Choco Locco Krispy Kreme Doughnut

If you don’t have diabetes and would like to get one, then stuff yourself with the latest doughnut collection from Krispy Kreme, their choco locco?

In this box were six dougnuts with the four new flavors of Krispy Kreme Doughnut and two regular doughnuts (my favorite).

This one is filled with caramel
This one is sprinkled with Oreo!Absolutely chocolate madness! The one with choco swirl sprinkles is good, my absolute favorite among the four. The rest have milk chocolate on it that every chocolate lover would love! If your mom is a chocoholic and is in good health (no diabetes and all) give them this super sweet treat along side with the birthday gifts for best mom you can find, a jewelry or a trip abroad if she’s adventurous and a jet-setter.
