Matakaw Ako!

The Korean fever invaded all aspects of life here in the Philippines.  After invading our televisions, music and fashion, they are taking our gastronomic adventures via storm.   I’m sure you’ve heard of Kimchi and Jiampong but it doesn’t stop there.

Kogi Bulgogi opened at Eastwood City Mall in Quezon City last April 2010 and their business is doing well as there are floods of customer trooping the one and only restaurant serving authentic all Korean Food Menu in the metro (as of last visit), Kogi Bulgogi.

Upon taking your order they will give you a complimentary appetizers a sampler size of their appetizers 6-7 kind of Korean appetizers to start your appetite. Warning: spicy is a trademark of the most popular Korean Food so if you don’t like spicy food find somewhere else to eat or ask the waiter about what in their menu is not spicy. Make sure you have something sweet and some water beside you before you eat.

You can try out their soup, the Sundubu Jjigae. Its a thick stew of soft tofu, clams, squid and pork.  You must try this!

Another tofu recipe they have is the Tofu Steak. Its a pan fried Korean Tofu Steak perfect for vegetarians

One of the Main Dish they are proud off in this Korean restaurant is their Chicken Kalbi, made of grilled marinated spicy chicken thigh.

Their flagship dish is the Bulgogi, its made of US Prime marinated beef with mushrooms. The Bulgogi is one of their Best Sellers here and we were told its an all-time-Korean-favorite dish.

And my favorite Korean Noodles the  Japchae its stir fried vermicelli with beef and mixed vegetables

The traditional Korean Rice meal, the Kimchi Rice made from stir fried rice with pickled cabbage, white radish and cucumber and then flavored with garlic, green onion and chili pepper.

And their Bibimbap, its Beef with fried egg/ while the Dulsot Bibimbap is beef with raw egg. Bibimbap: Steamed rice with seasoned vegetables and egg. Served in a heated stone pot

But aside from Korean food and Korean dishes, they have some Japanese food like the all-time-favorite – California Roll  made of fresh crabsticks, mango, cucumber strips and rice rolled in fish roe.  Serving is awesome!
