I learned this recipe from Chef Rob , he used to have a show on QTV 11 Chef on the Go and I can say he is really good. I met him in person during one of the events I attended and he was demonstrating healthy/ smart eating.
He gave tips on how removing a single ingredient in our regular meal can turn it healthy. He even showed to us how to make five different meals using the ingredients that are readily available in every households kitchen.
For today, I will teach you what I learned, how to make healthy tuna cups, its a variation to the usual tuna sandwich we love but instead of the fatty mayonnaise and carbohydrate packed bread we Chef Rob used lettuce leaves and lite mayonnaise.
Healthy Tuna Cups

Ingredients:
- Canned Tuna preferably based in water
- Chinese Lettuce
- Red Lettuce chopped
- Plump Tomato remove the seeds and chop (preferrable salsa slices)
- Lite Mayonnaise
- Onion
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Procedure:
- Cut the chinese lettuce and make some lettuce boats
- Chop the tuna and mix with lite mayonnaise add salt and pepper to taste
- Place the tuna mix in the lettuce boat and topped with the onion, tomato, and lettuce
- Ready to serve.
I love this ingredient because its so easy to prepare. I also love the taste because it has the crunch in it because of the fresh vegetables used like the lettuce and the contrasting taste. You can have as much as you can with less guilt because we used lite mayonnaise and vegetable instead of bread.
